Filing Advance Parole online - 101
Just a quick 101 on Advance Parole so that you get an idea of what it looks like when you are ready to file. These instructions might NOT be valid for every Advance Parole application. These are based on a pending Employment based AOS petition. So use them at your own discretion.
1) Create a New user id in USCIS E-filing system and have your A#, SSN and select the I-131 from the drop down list of applications available to file on line.
(2) The first screen is pretty much the basic screen asking you about whether you are filing for yourself or some one else.
(3) Next screen is about validating that an AOS petition is pending for the beneficiary.
(4) Next screen is personal information.
(6) You will get an instant receipt notice at the end of the filing and a receipt, finger printing notice will follow in US mail. Send the supporting documentation to the corresponding service center on the confirmation page right away. You do not need to wait for the original receipt notice that follows in the US mail.
(a) Copy of I-94 back & front
(b) Copy of Drivers License (or) Passport first page with Picture and DOB
(c) Copy of Confirmation Notice of E-filed 131.
(d) Copy of I-485 receipt notice.
(d) Copy of I-129/H1B approval notice (if you are filing for first time).
(e) 2 passport pictures.
(f) Sample letter explaining your intent of travel. The E-filing system kept warning that my application processing will be delayed because the middle initials were not filled. I do not have one. So I mentioned that in the letter. Find the sample below.

Hi,
Thanks for the wonderful screen shots and guidelines.
Natasha.
Wasnt sure about these 3 things?
1. Would you send the previous A.P documents if you received more than one in the past?
2. Is it mandatory to send the H1B notice if your AP renewal is second
time? or send it anyways?
3. Would it matter at the time of finger prints at the local office if you have drivers license which is not current of the residing state?
thanks
Hi,
What are the various case status after filing for AP & EAD - like case received pending, card production order, what else are the various stages that AP/EAD pass through before the approval notice as current status.
Let me know regarding this.
Thanks,
Natasha
